Want to bet no one will encourage participation in this voting process. Unity is not common among LLNL employees. They are to scared or just plan don't care to show their concerned or dismays.

Here's another rewarded misinformation blunder. Someone had a lot of time on their hands but it's also right on the money and shows just how misinformation works to the advantage of those in control.

LLNS can renegotiate the 401K contributions for TCP-2 after 1 year. Any company can always do that. I think it already happened at LANL. Once that happens you might not quite care about the difference between TCP-1 and TCP-2 so much.

I predict that both the LLNL and LANL LLC pensions will be frozen sometime in the next 5 years. NNSA needs a little more time to pass so people forget the verbal promises made during the NNSA's town hall meetings on this subject.

I wouldn't worry too much about a freeze-out, however, because by the time they get around to it they'll probably be squeezing employees for 20% contributions just to keep the pensions afloat. Most of the TCP1 staff will be more than happy by that point in time to get out from under the huge salary contributions required to keep these pensions running. If you're staying around just for the pension, then consider what a freeze-out of the pension might do to your future plans.

April 6, 2008 4:30 PM, so what part of "TCP-1 is 166% overfunded" didn't you understand? That means no contributions for a long time to come; probably never.

hey april 6 710pm the only reason tcp-1 is over funded is beacuse LLLNS keeps laying off tcp-1 personal!!!!!!

I'm not a TCP-1 guy, having frozen with UC. However, the relish with which some (bitter?) individuals seem to hope for TCP-1 failure is distasteful to any objective observer.

Doesn't that make you want to vote in the poll on the right of ther home page. I guess only 22 people out of 7000 are dis satisfied with their TCP-1 choice after being lied to. Clearly defines what I already knew about the common person al LLNL. I can only assume they want ULM to understand it's okay to be told false information or no information at all aka the truth.

"TCP-1 is 166% overfunded"

Not true. It WAS overfunded, valued as of Sept 30, 2007. It is not 2007 anymore. The stock market has tanked. The subprime market has brought down entire hedge funds and even Bear Stearns. No, I can safely bet you no longer have 166& funding. Pray for 100%. The mess isn't over yet either, as there are still a lot of banks to fail. Why do you think the government is hiring bank failure specialists like crazy? For a summer picnic?

This is off topic but a bit interesting. I read that a country can seize assets of another if they fail to pay their debts. So, we have shipped our manufacturing base to China, whom we are indebted to. Should we fail to pay our interest payments(think currency crisis), they can seize our companies. Poof..no more IBM, Walmart, GM, etc. etc, etc. We will be a third world country overnight.
