How many Flex Terms are left at LLNL?

I've heard ~500 remain, is this number close?

And did all the remaining Flex Terms get their latest WARN notification in the mail yet? As expected, mine was waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home from work today.

As of April 1st LLNL has:

Career = 5591
Flex = 931
Post Docs = 136
Non career = 549

I have no idea of how many of each one of these went out the gate last week but these numbers do not add up to what George claims unless for every one FTE he fires he hire in a Bechtel employee in the back door. Sounds like a good ploy to me. get rid of the old who are close to having a retirement they can live on and put them in the poverty lines and bring in a contractor who in the end gets nothing for their efforts. What a scam.

Man this place has sure gone to he-- since LLNS took over. What a crap hole. Envision flushing the toilet and watching the vortex that forms. That's about the speed this place is going out of control and trapped in the vortex are some very good people with more devastation to come.

Lie, steal, and cajole your way into an upper management position as soon as you can. It's the only hope for surviving at LLNL.

Is there any reason why a flex term employee shouldn't be out looking for a new job? I have seen too many flex terms that are in denial. I am wondering what they are waiting for.
