The only two names on this list that matter and who will decide the choice for next LLNL Director while attending a fine, Bacchanalian holiday at the upcoming Bohemian Grove encampment in July....

"Have my driver discretely park my big, black limousine over by the back lot, Jives. I think the lab natives might be restless tonight."

Pattiz's ego and bank account are reflected in the enormous number of grandiose titles that he has.

Tarter was at the helm when the NIF overruns were occurring, that will undoubtedly help in picking someone Chu would like.

Open Appeal to Sid Drell.

Don't you care that some billionaire is using your name and reputation? Where is your wisdom and vision you have provided to the Labs over the years? Have you lost your senses? Why did you become a part of this charade? Hello!

Yes, I agree, it is very sad to see name like Sidney Drell helping the Bechtel profiteers continue their raping and pillaging of the once great national labs.

For the record, Marv Adams is a former Los Alamos employee who was highly disgruntled prior to his departure. Pete Miller is also a former Los Alamos employee who I had overheard making disparaging comments about "white people being a dying breed". The only good news is that NO ONE on this "highly esteemed committee" will change the decision that Pattiz and Riley Becthel have already made. Not even his highness Secretary of Energy Dr. Steven Chu. Dr. Chu couldn't even direct the Labs to comply with his salary freeze directive, let alone make a decision.

Looking at the composition of these selection and screening panels, its clear UC wants LLNL to be a national "science" lab as opposed to just a nuclear weapons lab like LANL. I guess they got the memo from Dr. Chu.

I did not take Chu's comments to be a reflection of the chosen profession of a potential lab director (weapons or otherwise). I took them to be a statement on the credentials (or lack thereof) of the choice made by UC.

“[White House Science Advisor] Holdren really wants the Livermore director to be a nationally recognized scientist, as does Chu, and not someone from the nuclear weapons community,” another official told NW&M Monitor...

“[White House Science Advisor] Holdren really wants the Livermore director to be a nationally recognized scientist"

Does that mean that the fix is in for Al Gore?

Although that question was double dipped in satire when I wrote it, I would not be totally shocked if Al was in the running. He does have a Nobel Prize and he is published. As the inventor of the internet he'd be a great resource to Computations. He's photogenic. He's a Chu-in.
