End of clean energy?

Trump just proposed ending all federal clean energy development

He’d end all research on solar, wind, efficiency, batteries, clean cars, and climate science, too.

Anyone looking to Bloomberg for objective correct information is looking in the wrong place.

Will he also take away your ice cream, cake and unicorns? That's a bad case of wreckage of the future you have there. Seek immediate relief for the cognitive dissonance and recurring reification. Reality usually works well for that.

Lets just cut to the chase, maybe we should rethink democracy. Is it really a good idea to just let the "common person" vote? Just look at the results. We are stuck with a system from 1776, the world has progressed the average young person has access to hundred of times more knowledge and education than people from 200 years ago maybe just maybe we should listen them them.

And yet they have much less common sense, actual knowledge of how the world works, self-reliance, tolerance for dissent, acceptance of adversity, diversity of opinion, etc., etc., etc.

Yep, and why the snowflakes are melting all over the country. So sad for the little folk. Thought voting's not important, so didn't. Joke's on them.

Still waiting for the singularity I see, that magic moment when brilliance, creativity and intelligence erupt from a pile of rules and data, the Great Progressive Critical Mass. Back on the real axis, life goes on…

You do realize that places like Kentucky, Alabama and Alaska are allowed to vote in the elections. Sometimes for the greater good we must reconsider certain parts of our democracy.

The root of your confusion and dismay becomes evident. Apparently you slept through the civics class where it was explained that we live in a representative constitutional republic, not a democracy. People in the individual states voted Nov. 8 for the Electors who will represent them in the actual Presidential election on Dec. 19. The confusion is made worse by the fact that "Hillary Clinton" and "Donald Trump" appeared on the ballots. Very few people even know the names of their state's Electors whom they actually voted for. The nationwide "popular vote" is and always has been meaningless.

I did not say we should have a classless society but we should have compassionate caring society and unless you can demonstrate that you compassionate, caring and intelligent, than perhaps such a society should not allow you to vote, call it democracy plus or smart democracy as it should be the the next stage to our democracy.

Right, and exactly who will determine whether your "compassionate, caring and intelligent" test is met? Typical "progressive" bullshit: We'll determine how you should think and live because you are not capable of doing it for yourself. Thanks, Stalin, but no. "Society" doesn't tell me what I can do, the Constitution does. If you try to do so, I will kill you to keep my freedom.

More importantly, does anyone know what Trump plans to do with our Nation's stockpile of high-level nuclear waste (i.e. reactor cores) accumulating at U.S. nuclear power plants or the WIPP site which the DOE is planning and proposing to store low-level waste above-ground? Or can we expect the new Secretary of Energy to restart Yucca Mountain, which about 6-years ago then Secretary of Energy Steven Chu halted it with the mere words "we can do better" and then make no decision on it (i.e. ignored it) for his or the entire Obama Administration.

Anonymous said...

Many liberal policies intended to be compassionate and caring actually don't do what liberals purport. Like ObamaCare. ObamaCare takes individual choice away and many can't take advantage as the deductibles are too high for them. ObamaCare penalizes those who would rather purchase other health insurance plans that better meet their needs. ObamaCare is failing; costs are skyrocketing and insurers are dropping out. Exchange enrollment dropped by 1.1 million over the last 1/2 of 2015. In the ObamaCare case, progressives flunked the compassionate, caring, and intelligence test, especially badly flunking the intelligence part.

Likewise for the liberal's single payer healthcare. Support that and you should flunk. Why? We already know that would be a disaster. How do we know? Look at the single-payer VA health system - it's already a complete disaster.

Liberals who supported Bernie Sander's 65% capital gains tax supported the collapse of investment that produces all new, sustainable high-tech jobs. Flunk.

If you support a compassion or intelligence test for voting rights YOU are the one who shouldn't be allowed to vote.

It wasn't Chu who halted it. It was the Obama-appointed NRC chairman Gregory Jaczko, former aide to Harry Reid, after Reid promised Obama to carry out the obstruction Obama wanted in the Senate. Jaczko was later forced to resign, and the Yucca design has since been found environmentally safe by the government, so the way now seems clear since Reid is retiring at the end of this term.

You wrote "this kind of garbage persist". You should have written "this kind of garbage to persist".

The word is drivel, not dribble. To dribble is to allow saliva to drip from your mouth. Like you apparently do.

Look in the mirror. YOU just might be the chest-thumping chimpanzee.

Good lord you're a moron. Who cares about his mistakes when the point was made about the violence being preached by Repuglican p-grabbers that troll this thread. Do us all a favor and STFU, get your late 50's butt out of your mom's basement and go change her diaper. Afterwards you can tweet love emojies to your fellow orangutan that you elected for president.

Bring it if you can. All that separates the US from all-out civil war is the fact that the left wingers don't believe in guns. The rest of us are armed and ready. Personal (anonymous) challenges are for wussies.

The pen is mightier than the sword. Well, unless the pen is wielded by the semi-illiterate left-wingnuts who spew their discredited propaganda here.

Just a quick history lesson for you left-wingnuts; Nazi is short for the National Socialist German Worker's Party. The left-wing of the Dimocrat party is as close, ideologically, to the Nazis as the Republicans are. Like the Nazis, left-wing Dimocrats are opposed to free-market capitalism. Like the Nazis, the left-wing Dimocrats are pro-labor and anti-business. Like the Nazis, the Dimocrats are in favor of more Government and more Government control. The Nazis were anti-Semites and the Dimocrats are increasingly anti-Israel.

Hitler even said that Nazism favors neither the left or the right.

November 22, 2016 at 2:47 PM,

Like the lefties don't practice violence. HA. Did you read about the Anti-Trump protest in Portland where the lefties started shooting each other?

What districts have the highest rate of gun violence, Democrat-voting districts or Republican-voting districts? Here's a hint; Detroit, New Orleans, Newark, St. Louis, Baltimore, Birmingham, Cincinnati, Oakland, and Chicago.

Figure it out yet?

The crime rate is high in these places due to poverty and the root cause of poverty is the systemic oppression and racism. Only in America can you have one candidate get more votes and still not win, that is the definition of oppression. The only good thing about this whole mess is that we now know which so called friends and family we disassociate with.

Liberal loser, your world view was totally repudiated and destroyed on 11/9, in races at all levels all across the country. The rest of us will smile as your kind is marginalized and ignored.

_____

Abject NONSENSE. The election rules we have were set up by America's founders. Winning the Electoral College has always determined Presidential elections in this country. The Presidential election rules are what they are, and everybody knows it.

A smart candidate will campaign to win the election, not to win the popular vote.

If the election rules were changed to determine the Presidential election by popular vote, the candidates would have campaigned differently, wouldn't they? They would have campaigned to turn out more votes even in the States that clearly vote for the opposition.

The fact is, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO WOULD HAVE CARRIED THE POPULAR VOTE IF THE ELECTION WAS DETERMINED BY POPULAR VOTE.

Since the Republicans held the House, held the Senate, and won an overwhelming number of Governors and State Legislatures, the smart money would have been on the Republicans to win the Presidency even under popular vote rules.

NO OPPRESSION, you are COMPLETELY WRONG. The rules were set up in advance and the candidates played by the rules. Oppression would have been if the rules were in place but were not followed.

Want to influence opinion? Stop spewing easily discredited liberal nonsense.

_____

Hogwash. Poverty doesn't cause gun violence. Many rural districts are much, much poorer than these crime-infested districts and they don't have high gun violence rates.

It's a good idea to think first and then write. Doing in the opposite order is hurting your credibility.

Instead of so called "clean energy". Let's work for "efficient", "low cost" energy to get the economy moving again ! Go Trump.

Anyway the "wall" is for mitigating the mass migrations of Latin Americans northward due to climate change ! That's called "climate engineering". Get it liberals.

Jill stein is going to recount Wisconsin, Michigan and Penn and that will put Hillary over the top! End bigotry, end hatred, and end intolerance. The biggest issues of our day our diversity and privilege and we just took a major step back.

False, Hilary is going to win this in the end just you wait.

Anonymous said...

The recounts will not matter. The EC will vote Dec. 19th and it will be over for good.

Anonymous said...

Why is Hiliar forcing a recount? Watch, she will ask for a manual recount thus delaying the electors from three states long enough to miss the Electoral College vote. Nobody gets 270 votes, sending the election to the House to decide. The House will elect Trump and the liar will claim that Trump is not legitimate.

A desperate act to keep the Dems from a total collapse.
